Benallack Barn is a beautiful stone farm complex dating partly from 1600, nestling in glorious countryside near the historic village of Grampound in mid Cornwall and perfectly located between the north and south coasts. Tucked away down a long private lane, situated in three acres of gardens and surrounded by fields and woods, the barn is a perfect retreat for couples who want absolute peace and quiet, yet easy access to all corners of the county.

As well as the owners’ home, there are two self-catering apartments set around a central courtyard. Named for their use when Benallack was a working dairy farm, the Bullpen and the Dairy each sleep two people (plus a baby in arms or older child in the Dairy) and can be booked by the week or for short breaks. The apartments are individually furnished with decorative and antique items, yet with modern luxury and comfort always in mind.

Each apartment has its own outside space but guests are also welcome to stroll in the gardens and find a seat to enjoy the views and the wildlife. After a busy day out exploring, have a picnic or barbecue by the lake in the evening sun.  Or go for a country walk right from the door. And if you are a pianist, there is a Steinway grand in the house that you can play, with doors opening on to the garden.

You can enjoy fresh eggs from our own flock and seasonal vegetables from our garden, when available. If you have bikes or surfboards, there is space to wash and store them under cover. And we hope you like animals as we have dogs, a cat and pet chickens wandering around (well-behaved dogs are welcome in the Dairy).

We are happy to book restaurants or other attractions for you, arrange champagne and flowers for special occasions, or take delivery of and unpack your supermarket shopping before your arrival. Just ask!

We want you to have a relaxing and informal holiday, with all the comforts you would expect at home, and we look forward to sharing this special place with you.
